So, you want to scale your business?

One thing I have learnt over the years as an entrepreneur is that only offering 1-1 services and bespoke products means you will always have a cap on how much you can make in a month.

If you are a one woman band and you don’t have a team to help you – that’s a lot of work you need to do to allow your business to grow. But as a solo entrepreneur, there are only so many hours in the day which means you can only take on a certain number of clients in a month.

Now as someone that used to have a bespoke service based business (wedding stationery designer), I was able to scale my business to a point where I became a leader in my field with a premium product and price point – but even then. Even when I was consistently booking my dream clients – I could never do more than was physically possible to fit into my day.

So, how exactly do you create a scalable business then? How do you get those consistent 5, 6 or more figure months like the leaders in their field get?

It’s simple!

You need to offer a one to many package in your offer suite.

Let’s just talk about that for a second…

So right now, you get a booking from a client. Great! You take them through the process of working with you. Perhaps, like myself, you work with that client for weeks, months or even longer.

What if you could offer your expertise to more than one person at a time for one service?

There are a number of ways you can do this:

• Create a membership – a lower cost investment (often between £15-40pm). No cap on the number of people who can sign up. You can give value and build a community to help grow your audience, boost your visibility, teach others and stand out as a leader to those who want to learn from you. If you already have a big following a membership programme is great because chances are you’ll fill the first spaces pretty quick. Hello passive income and a business model that gives you more income and freedom!
• Create a course or programme – this could be a live programme that you take a group of people through, or an evergreen option with pre-recorded videos, workbooks or guides to help teach others something.
• Offer in person workshops, retreats or events to a larger group of people. You could collaborate with others to create an event that will bring in more people. Maybe you hire a space in a lovely venue to host more guests, or perhaps its a smaller event like a retreat where it’s more about the experience, connection and growth at a lovely quieter location over the course of a weekend. Maybe you host seasonal workshops like Christmas wreath or gift making which you could run a few time slots for in a single day for groups of people.

There are loads of options when it comes to growing your business and offering a more one to many option.

Not only will it help you get more money in the bank, it will create more freedom as you won’t have to take on so many 1-1 clients. It also means for your 1-1 services you can charge a premium to work with you.
